Kildare Down Syndrome
Down Syndrome Ireland – Kildare Branch, established in 1985, supports over 240 member families across Kildare and West Wicklow and operates under the governance of Down Syndrome Ireland. Run by a voluntary committee of parents, the branch receives no government funding and relies on local fundraising and grants, with all funds raised remaining in the region to support members. Early Development Groups for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, as well as Speech and Language Therapy services, are delivered from ACDAL, Allenwood. The branch also runs four Adult Education “Living It Up!” programmes in partnership with KWETB and offers a wide range of activities throughout the year including workshops, classes, talks, and seasonal celebrations.
